Suhul Hospital stands as a beacon of hope in this worn torn region of Ethiopia. According to the WHO only 3% of health facilities in Tigray are fully functioning, meaning most are unable to meet the health needs of the people.
Drought and ongoing conflict have caused a humanitarian crisis impacting over 5 million people in Amhara and Tigray.
SAWW is currently fundraising to send vital medical equipment to Shire Hospital. The hospital staff have urgently requested patient monitors for the recovery room where there are 7 beds but only 2 monitors, a situation that is comprimising patient safety. Baby CPAP devices are needed to support the breathing of sick and premature babies
SAWW is currently fundraising to send vital medical equipment to Shire Hospital. The hospital staff have urgently requested patient monitors for the recovery room where there are 7 beds but only 2 monitors, a situation that is comprimising patient safety. Baby CPAP devices are needed to support the breathing of sick and premature babies in the neonatal intensive care unit. Without this support, babies may die.
