We aim to improve anaesthesia services to ensure patients receive the treatment they need. Our objectives are to preserve and protect good health by the provision of suitable anaesthetic equipment, research and education.
Five billion people do not currently have access to safe, timely and affordable surgical care and anaesthesia worldwide, almost all in poor countries. In low- and middle-income countries, 9 out of 10 people cannot access even the most basic surgical services.
Safe anaesthesia is crucial for surgery to save lives and prevent disability from obstructed labour, injuries, cancer, birth deformities, and more. Investing in anaesthesia and surgical services is affordable, saves lives and promotes economic growth.
