How about taking on a challenge that you've always wanted to do? Or organising a fun sponsorship event with friends? Well, now you have a reason to go for it!
Raising funds through a sponsored event can be enjoyable and very rewarding. By involving friends, family and school or work colleagues in your event can raise a lot more than on your own. Most people willingly give money to support their friends and acknowledge their hard work, as well as to support a worthy cause.
A whole range of activities can be sponsored, just remember your event must be compliant with current government advice on COVID19. Here a few sponsorship ideas to fuel your imagination.
Why not take on a personal challenge to run/cycle/walk a particular distance and ask for sponsorship? How about skipping? What about walking up and down the stairs? How about yoga or learning something new? Get creative and set up a fundraising page, where you may be able to upload video of your milestones, or live stream your event. If you want to add a competitive element, use tracking to compete with friends to reach a shared target.
Dance-athon, Sing-athon, Play-a-musical-instrument-athon, Read-a-thon! You can add "-athon" to just about anything! If you've a special skill this may be the time for it to come to the fore! How long can you keep your friends laughing with a Joke-athon?

Every penny you raise will help to save lives in low-income countries.
800 mothers die in childbirth and pregnancy every day, almost all of them in poor countries. 80% of these deaths are preventable. All five of the major causes of maternal mortality – haemorrhage, sepsis, unsafe abortion, hypertensive disorders and obstructed labour – can be treated at a well-staffed, well-equipped health facility.
Your fundraising will help us to supply equipment and training to save lives. Thank you.
